Prophet Aaron (As) had beard. |
[20:94]
[Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard
or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You
caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not
observe [or await] my word.' "
Prophet (saw) had long beard upto chest:
Narrated Grandfather of Talhah: I entered upon the Prophet (
)
while he was performing ablution, and the water was running down his
face and beard to his chest. I saw him rinsing his mouth and snuffing up
water separately. Sunan Abi Dawud 139 [Weak Hadith]
Yazeed Al Faarisi bin Hurmuz, who was a calligrapher of the Qur-aan, once saw Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam in his dream during the time of Ibn 'Abbaas Radiyallahu 'Anhu. He related his dream to Ibn 'Abbaas. Ibn 'Abbaas said:
Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam used to say that the shaytaan cannot imitate him. That person who has seen him in a dream has really seen him'. After mentioning this he asked: 'Can you describe this person whom you have seen in your dream?'. I replied: 'Yes, I can, I will describe to you a man whose body and height were of a medium stature. He had a wheat-coloured complexion with a bit of whiteness in it. Eyes like those that had kuhl on them. A smiling face. Beautiful and round face. A compact beard which surrounded his mubaarak face, and spread on the fore-portion of the chest". 'Awf ibn Abl Jamilah, a narrator of this hadith says: "I do not remember what other feature besides these, my ustaadh Yazeed, who is a narrator of this hadith, described". Ibn 'Abbaas Radiyallahu 'Anhu said: "If you had seen him while being awake, you would not have been able to describe him any further" [Shamail Muhammadiyah by Imam Tirmidhi Book 56, Hadith 410]

Growing Beard is an order from ALLAH
Abu Hurayrah " reported that the ruler of Yemen, appointed by the Persian emperor Kisra, sent two envoys to the Messenger !. When they came into his presence, he noticed that they had shaved their beards and let their moustaches grow big. Hating their ugly appearance,
he turned his face away and said, “Woe be to you, who told you to do so?” They replied: “Our lord (Kisra) did!” The Messenger ! responded: “But my Lord, exalted and glorified be He, has commanded me to spare my beard and trim my moustaches.”
[Recorded by Ibn Jarir at-Tabari, Ibn Sa’d, and Ibn Bishran. Verified to be hasan (good) by al-Albani (Fiqh us-Sirah by al-Ghazali p. 359)]
Command from Prophet (Saw)
Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, "Cut the moustaches short and leave the beard (as it is).
Sahih al-Bukhari 5893
It is Natural (Fitrah):
Sayyidah Aisha (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, “Ten things are instinctive : trimming the moustache, growing the beard, the siwak, rinsing the nose, clipping the nails, washing the back of fingers, plucking hair in the armpit, shaving the pubes, abstersion with 1 water,” Zakariya reported that Mus’ab said, “I have forgotten the tenth except that it should be rinsing the mouth.”
[Muslim: 261, Tirmidhi : 2766, Ahmed :25114, Abu Dawud 53, Nasaee: 5055]
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
The Prophet (
) said, "There will emerge from the East some people who will recite the Qur'an but it will not exceed their throats and who will go out of (renounce) the religion (Islam) as an arrow passes through the game, and they will never come back to it unless the arrow, comes back to the middle of the bow (by itself) (i.e., impossible). The people asked, "What will their signs be?" He said, "Their sign will be the habit of shaving (of their beards). (Fath-ul-Bari, Page 322, Vol. 17th)
