بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
https://www.facebook.com/almunajjid.en/posts/989821297786853* Zakaah (obligatory charity) is not due on all types of wealth. It is only due on wealth which will have an actual growth or an estimated growth. The actual growth refers to things which grow due to reproduction, breeding and trade.
* Estimated growth refers to things that are able to grow in value like in gold, silver and currencies.
* Based on this precondition, there is no Zakaah due on man's principle needs: a house to live in, craft tools, machinery for industry and means of transportation like cars.
* There is also no Zakaah due on what a person possesses for his basic needs like food, drink, accommodation, garments or a car.
* There is no Zakaah due on clothes which are not intended for trade, whether or not the owner needs them. Additionally, there is no Zakaah due on home and shop furniture.
Zakaat on land https://www.facebook.com/almunajjid.en/posts/990674784368171
If someone purchases land and has no intention to use it for sales or is reviewing the issue and has not decided, he does not have to pay Zakaat (obligatory charity), even if a year passes.
If someone has land that he is waiting to sell, he has to pay Zakaat (obligatory charity) if he deals in real estate, even if it remains in his possession for years.
If the property is useless to him and he wants to sell it but he finds no buyers, he does not have to pay Zakaat (obligatory charity). (Liqaa’aat Al-Baab Al-Maftooh, 163/2 9)
Zakaat on buildings https://www.facebook.com/almunajjid.en/posts/990542654381384
Zakaat (obligatory charity) on buildings differs depending on the intentions of the owner. They are of four cases:
1) The person owns them with the intention of personal usage to build it and live in it. In this case, no Zakaat is due, not matter how valuable the building is.
2) Owning the building with the intention of trade. Zakaat is due on its worth every year. Its price should be estimated every year according to the market price, regardless if it is sold for more or less than the original price.
3) Owning the property with the intention of farming and harvesting. There is no Zakaat due on it by default, but rather, Zakaat is due on the harvest. Zakaat must be given at the time of harvesting.
4) Owning the property to rent it, invest, and benefit from renting it out. There is no Zakaat by default, but Zakaat is due on the revenue.
Zakaat of the revenue should be calculated with the rest of one’s wealth that the property owner has.
Zakaah on jewelry women use to adorn themselves

* The majority of the scholars are of the opinion that there is no Zakaah (obligatory charity) due on it; this is the famous opinion of Maalik and Ash-Shaafi'i and Ahmad.
* The husband is not obliged to pay his wife's jewelry Zakaah (obligatory charity), because Zakaah is due on the owner of the wealth, which is the wife and not the husband.
* If a woman is unaware of the ruling of paying the Zakaah (obligatory charity) on jewelry in the past years and did not pay it, then she is not requested to do anything because of the difference among between the scholars regarding paying the Zakaah on jewelry, since each of the two opinions substantiates their opinion with strong evidences. (Ibn 'Uthaymeen 124/18).
* It does not matter how much the price was at the time the jewelry was bought or how much a shop can get for it, what counts is the market price of gold at the time of paying the Zakaah.
* One is not required to add the gold of the wife to the gold of the daughter in order to reach the Nisaab; each of the two has her own Nisaab which they must reach (before Zakaah (obligatory charity) becomes due).
* One must pay Zakaah (obligatory charity) on any gold or silver item even if it is prohibited to possess. For example, a man possessing a gold watch, pen or ring must pay the due Zakaah on them (even though he is not allowed to possess them). Likewise is the case of silver utensils and the like.
* There is no Zakaah due on metals and precious stones even if they are more valuable than gold and silver unless they are used as tradable items, and this is the view of the majority of scholars.
Intention when paying Zakaah
https://www.facebook.com/almunajjid.en/posts/989847081117608
Intention is a precondition when paying Zakaah (obligatory charity) because it is an act of worship which is not valid without the person intending to perform it, as the Prophet ﷺ said: "The deeds are (considered and rewarded) by the intentions." Therefore, if a person spends some money and did not intend it to be Zakaah of his wealth, and then he later decides to make it part of his Zakaah, then it would not suffice him because he did not intend this at the time of giving it. Likewise, if one wants to pay Zakaah on behalf of someone else, then it would not suffice unless the owner of the wealth had permitted him to do so. Because it requires the owner to intend to pay it. Therefore, if one pays Zakaah on behalf of his father without his permission, then the father still owes the Zakaah.
The ruling on those denying Zakaah

Zakaah is the most important pillar in Islaam after the Two Testimonies of Faith and the daily prayers. There is evidence in the Qur'aan, the Sunnah and the consensus of the scholars proving its obligation. Therefore, if one denies it then he becomes a disbeliever and an apostate who should be given an opportunity to repent, and if he does not, then he is to be executed.
The consequence of not paying Zakaah
https://www.facebook.com/almunajjid.en/posts/989236627845320
The Prophet ﷺ said: "If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him (Zakaah), when the Day of Resurrection comes, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead and his back would be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among servants." (Muslim (987))
The baldheaded poisonous male snake

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever is made wealthy by Allaah and does not pay the due Zakaah of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a baldheaded poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.'"
