Choosing
the right mother of your children is a choice of a lifetime. Ibraheem,
peace be upon him left Hajar without any food or water in the wilderness
with her son, Ismaeel. She asked him: “did Allah order you to leave us
here?” He said: yes. She said: Allah will not forsake us then. What a
woman with astonishing Iman, dependence, trust and reliance on Allah!
Now look at the child she brought up! He was the one who said to his
father when he was ordered to slaughter him: "Do as you are ordered. You
will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast". I would pay my
life to get such a son who would be an Imam and a source of guidance to
Allah. Therefore, before you make a choice you may regret till the day
you die, choose a righteous, practicing and wise wife and make that your
priority. Beauty fades away and so does wealth. Only the genuine
religious commitment of a person remains.
The
Prophet (PBUH) said: "A woman may be married for four reasons: her
wealth, her lineage (family status), her beauty or her religious
commitment; Choose the one who is religious and you will prosper.”
{62:27, Sahih Bukhari}
